Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz School of Accountancy (TISSA-UUM) prides itself to be the 2nd largest accounting school in Malaysia. Following the restructuring of the College of Business in Universiti Utara Malaysia, TISSA-UUM was established in July 2011. TISSA-UUM comprises two different departments, namely the Department of Financial Accounting and Taxation and Department of Audit and Accounting Information Systems.
TISSA-UUM is one of the nation's oldest accounting schools, having been established along with Universiti Utara Malaysia in 1984. TISSA-UUM, with 130-strong faculty, is among the largest accounting school among Malaysian public universities. Students applying into its Bachelor of Accounting (Honors) and Bachelor of Accounting (Information Systems) programs have to go through a stringent process of selection and only the best ones are accepted. TISSA-UUM also has a stellar and notable postgraduate division, with a considerable number of international students enrolling in its masters (either by coursework or full research) and Ph.D. programs.
